Pulau Mataking Resort - Good Diving and value for money

Pulau Mataking Review : I travelled to this resort for a Dive holiday with a friend from the UK in March 2011 and we selected this resort based on comments on this site and other research done on the web. On our arrival in Tawau we were greeted by Staff from the resort and quickly escorted to a mini bus which took our overland on a 1 hour trip to the Jetty at Sempora. ( This resort uses a small jetty opposite the Sea Breeze hotel ) after 20min or speed boat arrived and we were on our way to Mataking Island. The ocean around the island was flat, making our arrival to the island quite spectacular. Check in was handled quick and efficiently, after a quick overview of the island we were taken to our Chalet. We opted for a Premium deluxe chalet which is located just behind the Dive Center. The room was large and bed’s comfortable and a very good AC. The room is also equipped with a mini bar and a TV with limited Channels. The Bathroom was quite big and toiletries etc supplied. Negativ...

Pulau Mataking Reef Dive Resort

If you are looking for an idyllic dive break then this is the place. My girlfriend and I stayed there over the last 5 days of April hoping it would be the ultimate remedy for our stress levels thanks to our jobs back home....it was!! The beach king chalet was clean, supremely comfortable and peaceful. I recommend these rooms if you want a bit of chill time in between dives but all rooms looked great. The food was great and service attentive. The drinks on offer were pricey (as they always are in those places) but my girlfriend did say the piƱa coladas were best on tour so there you go. But all that aside it the actual island that matters and it is really truely amazing. The sand bar out to the minor island is well worth walking along to really get that deserted island feel. The most important thing of course is the diving and it's why we chose mataking. We had heard how hard it is to get a permit for sipadan so we wanted to be somewhere where the doing was fantastic just in...

The aluring Sipadan Island

Image
The name of Sipadan is simply legendary in diving circles, conjuring images of twirling tornados of barracudas and jacks, patrolling hammerhead sharks, millions of technicolored reef fish and, above all, dozens of sea turtles swimming peacefully everywhere. "Sipadan, Borneo: The waters of Indonesia meet the waters of Malaysia at the 'Ring of Fire'. Within this underwater circus lies one of the world's freshest dive sites - Borneo's Sipadan Island. Seeing 10 green and hawksbill turtles in one dive is not uncommon, nor is seeing a school of 300 barracuda and hammerheads The proximity of dives to shore allows you to gear up, swim out a few yards, and get some of the best diving of your life." “This place doesn't really exist! It was my paradise, keep it clean! I'm sure to coming back again. I love you all. thanks with all my heart. I hope you never going to change. -Italy- “Thanks for unforgettable stay at this Paradise, ...
